When it comes to buying a gazebo for your garden you firstly need to decide on whether you want a static or a pop-up style gazebo. Static gazebos are erected in your garden and fixed to the ground by either anchor screws or cementing into the ground. These gazebos are permanent and cannot be moved easily.
Pop up gazebos are temporary gazebos that are opened up and ‘pop up’ with a simple action. These gazebos are then anchored to the ground using either water/sand weights around the legs or using stakes to affix into the soft ground such a lawned grass.
Both styles have positives and negatives. The static, permanent gazebos tend to be stronger and withstand wind and rain better than the pop-up styles however, the pop-up styles are versatile, being able to move them from one area of the garden to another, or using them for picnics, outdoor events or lending it to family or friends. The static gazebo tends to be more stylish.
Pop up gazebos also need to be stored when not in use, therefore you need to consider where you will store the gazebo when not in use. Although static gazebos can be left out in all weathers, it is advisable to remove the canvas part during the winter season or high winds.
You may also want to consider the price comparison of both the static and pop up gazebos. The permanent ones tend to be more expensive in comparison with the same sized pop-up style. This is largely due to the materials and manufacturing costs.
Whichever gazebo you decide upon, you will be grateful for the shade and shelter they provide during hot months. Both styles can have side panels added to give extra shelter from light wind and rain showers.
