Your garden is mostly going to be able to adapt to changes in weather, as long as you have chosen the right types of plants, flowers and turf. Much of what you can do for your garden during the winter is in the planning. Plan out a garden that will be resilient and that will have flowers blooming at different times of the year.
You should mostly leave your grass alone during the winter. It won’t need cutting and it won’t need to be weeded. It may start to go a little bit brown but if you water it again in spring, it should recover easily.
If you have any plants or flowers are particularly susceptible to cold weather, put them in a greenhouse or somewhere else indoors. You can keep the earth a little bit warmer by covering it over with plastic sheets to keep heat in. This won’t make an enormous difference with frost, though.
