A Guide to Growing your Own Tomatoes

Tomatoes can grow very well out of doors or in a greenhouse. They do need some special conditions in order to grow well though, so here is a short guide to kick start the growth of your tomato plants:

  • Plant tomato seedlings from around April time. Keep them indoors at first and then transfer them to the outdoors and into growing bags after a few weeks.
  • Make sure they get lots of light. If you want to grow tomatoes all year round, you will probably need to use some kind of artificial lighting. Tomato plants need the direct light that is very strong.
  • Preheat soil before moving the plants. Cover it up for a couple of weeks before you plan to plant.
  • Water evenly and often. A lack of water will make the tomatoes begin to crack and dry up. Juicy tomatoes rely on regular and thorough watering all year round.
